Randy Candias

President

SUMMARY

Mr. Candias is the President of Warren Candias & Associates. He was previously employed for thirteen years as a Senior Manager by Murphy & Maconachy, Inc., a nationally recognized full service environmental investigative firm. He specializes primarily in managing and investigating insurance investigations involving Comprehensive General Liability and Professional Liability claims. He has been a vital participant in the successful completion of numerous multisite environmental insurance coverage investigations and white-collar investigations throughout the United States. He has also participated and testified in several intellectual property investigations nationwide.

Prior to his tenure at Warren & Associates and Murphy & Maconachy, Inc., Mr. Candias was employed as an investigator for another national investigation firm, and as a legal assistant for a prominent San Diego law firm.

EXPERIENCE

• Mr. Candias has worked on behalf of insurance carriers and insurance Defense Groups investigating the circumstances of environmental contamination at manufacturing facilities, petroleum refineries and terminals, chemical plants, and landfills throughout the nation. These investigations include analysis and procurement of regulatory agency documents, and identification of fact witnesses that enable carriers to assert affirmative policy defenses and attain favorable settlements.
• Utilizing strict Court and Company mandated Investigation Protocols, Mr. Candias has interviewed hundreds of former employees, regulatory officials, technical experts and third party witnesses. He has also coordinated and accompanied witness appearances at depositions.
• Mr. Candias has been a team leader for numerous Defense Groups establishing site specific investigation work plans, interview questionnaires, and Investigative Protocols. He has prepared hundreds of investigative reports and interview statements, including procurement of signed statements from former employee witnesses.
• Mr. Candias has managed and conducted the investigation of claims in excess of $1 Billion, which involve multisite chemical and petroleum facilities. Other significant site investigations/litigation include New Bedford Harbor; Amoco; Union Carbide, Uravan Mine; Commencement Bay - WA; several Boeing sites; and numerous other chemical and solvent recovery Superfund facilities, as well as smaller contaminated sites situated throughout the United States.
• Mr. Candias has successfully completed several patent and trademark investigations resulting in favorable judgments for clients. Two cases involved coordinating and managing multi-state investigations for a prominent and distinguished international law firm.

EDUCATION

Mr. Candias received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from Point Loma College in San Diego, California. He has received formal "hands-on" fraud and investigative training from several former employees of the FBI, ATF, IRS, State Department and District Attorney offices throughout his past and present employment.
